Amazon UK Says One Book Is Missing Despite My Returning All Five

1

Some weeks ago, I ordered five books from Amazon UK on 8 October. When they arrived, I realised the print was far too small for me to read, so I decided to return all five books together. I took them to a local drop‑off point near my home in Kent (CT5 2QP) on 9 October and handed all five books over at the same time. Recently, I received an email from Amazon stating that one of the books had not been returned. This is incorrect, as I returned all five books in a single package at the same drop‑off point, on the same day, for the same reason. When I spoke to the lady at the drop‑off point, she told me this type of issue happens from time to time and that items can go missing in transit, which suggests the problem occurred after I left the parcel with them. I am frustrated that the email I received did not offer a clear or easy way to respond or explain the situation. I would never have returned four books and kept one, especially when I could not read any of them and returned them all the very next day after delivery. I request that you review this return, investigate what happened during transit between the drop‑off point and Amazon, and issue a refund for the book that is currently being treated as “missing” as I fulfilled my obligation by returning all five books together.
