Alamo £130.37 Fuel Charge Despite Returning Car With Full Tank

I rented a vehicle from Alamo at London Stansted Airport between 3 and 10 August 2026 under a standard “Full-to-Full” fuel policy. My rental was made under Rental Agreement 4GS284. Before returning the car on 10 August, I refueled it to 100% at the petrol station directly next to Stansted Airport. When I dropped the vehicle off at 11:31 AM, the fuel gauge showed a completely full tank and the odometer reading was 22,085 miles. Despite returning the vehicle fully refueled in accordance with the contract, Alamo later issued Final Invoice 404044928248 and charged £130.37 to my credit card for “Pre-Purchased Fuel”. At no point did I request or agree to purchase a full tank of fuel in advance, and this charge was not explained or authorized by me. I have clear digital evidence supporting my position, including a smartphone photo of the dashboard at the drop-off area with verifiable time and GPS metadata, as well as bank records showing the fuel purchase at the petrol station immediately before returning the vehicle. These documents demonstrate that I complied fully with the agreed “Full-to-Full” fuel policy. I attempted to resolve this directly with Alamo by phone, but I have only received promises of a response and no actual solution. I also sent an email last week and have still not received any meaningful reply. Applying such a charge against my card without any contractual basis is, in my view, an unfair and unacceptable trading practice. I have already initiated a chargeback procedure through my bank and reported this situation to the BVRLA. I request that Alamo immediately cancels this unjustified “Pre-Purchased Fuel” charge and refunds the full amount of £130.37 taken from my card without my consent.
