All My Accounts Were Blocked After Back to Back EFT Transfers by Akbank
Akbank Mobile Banking Block Nonsense! On March 29, 2025, the day before the holiday, in the afternoon, I needed to transfer money via EFT from my Akbank online branch to my İşbank account. I successfully transferred part of the amount, but because the full amount wasn’t sent initially, I sent the remaining portion one minute later. Although the money was deducted from my Akbank account, it never reached the other bank account. Since both accounts belong to me, I was unable to give my children their holiday allowance. I was left completely stuck. When I called customer service, they told me that because I transferred money back-to-back, both my account and four credit cards were blocked. They said the block would be lifted shortly—and it was. However, when I tried to make another EFT to my other account, they blocked everything again. The holiday arrived, and the accounts are still not accessible. I have no idea when they’ll be unlocked. Akbank has completely locked me out of all my accounts, and I couldn’t even give out holiday money. I also missed important payments I needed to make the day before the holiday. This experience has really pushed me away from the bank. Despite both accounts being under my name, they label it as suspicious activity and leave people stuck without any explanation. I don’t know how long this situation will go on.
