Post-Booking Price Gouging Complaint: Airbnb Host Doubles Rate on Confirmed Villa

On the night of August 25, 2026, I reserved the accommodation from the listing link I shared for "Private pool villa -3br- koh phangan" hosted by Jane on Airbnb at a specific set rate. Immediately after creating the reservation and completing the payment, the host nearly doubled the price and sent me a special offer at this new, inflated price.

I wish to stay at the initial price displayed in the listing that I agreed to and booked. However, when I escalated the situation to Airbnb Support, they ruled in favor of the host and refused to intervene in this blatant pricing scheme. This has both victimized me as a consumer and led me to believe the platform permits such price manipulations.

I demand that Airbnb honor the original lower price valid at the moment of my booking, confirm my stay at that rate, and disallow hosts from retroactively hiking rates. Furthermore, I demand that necessary audits and sanctions be applied against such practices to prevent similar grievances from recurring.

They are demanding 88,000 TL for a house I booked for 45,000 TL.
