I Booked on Airbnb But Host Demanded 4x the Listed Price—Fix This Scam Listing
I recently found a listing on Airbnb that seemed reasonable based on the price shown on the screen. Everything looked fine, so I proceeded with the booking. However, after contacting the host, I was shocked to hear that the price was four times higher than what was originally displayed.
This is outrageous and completely unacceptable. The difference between the listed price and the price demanded by the host is massive. This kind of pricing manipulation severely damages trust in Airbnb as a platform. I no longer feel confident making bookings if prices can suddenly change without warning.
I am requesting that Airbnb immediately review this host’s listing and investigate why there’s such a huge inconsistency between the advertised price and the actual demand. If this isn’t resolved, it feels like the platform is enabling bait-and-switch tactics, and I will absolutely be reporting this to consumer protection authorities.
