I made a reservation for La Maison Fethiye through Airbnb on January 28, 2025 for a 3-day stay with my partner, excited to enjoy a peaceful getaway. However, what we experienced was anything but restful. I'm writing this as a tourism professional and concerned guest so others can avoid the trauma we went through.
After completing the payment, I contacted the host on March 8 to confirm the exact location and introduce ourselves. My messages were seen but ignored. A few days later, I sent another question—again, seen but no response. Still, I tried to remain positive due to the good reviews.
On the day of our arrival, we reached Fethiye at 11 AM. I called the host to request an early check-in—no answer. We stood in front of the property until 2 PM, waiting while also contacting Airbnb support. Finally, when we entered, the place was an absolute mess: uncleaned, trash everywhere, wet floors, stained linens, and even an open door.
Airbnb support also couldn’t reach the host. To prevent our short holiday from turning into a complete disaster, we ended up cleaning the house ourselves—using leftover tissues from previous guests! Hours of exhaustion followed, which was not how we imagined our time off.
Eventually, the host messaged saying “my mental health is bad,” and promised a refund—only to later revoke it, saying “you reported me to Airbnb anyway.” He was rude, unhelpful, and clearly unprofessional. I have all call logs and chat screenshots.
