Fraudulent Listings, Unsanitary Conditions, and Unfair Refunds on Airbnb
We rented a place for 8 days through Airbnb in San Francisco Fremont on March 7, 2024, but when we arrived, we found the house did not match the photos the host posted on Airbnb. There were stains and tears on the bed sheets, coffee stains on the walls, cobwebs on the ceiling, and dusty crumbs under the shelves. We decided not to stay there and called Airbnb's America call center to request a full refund. They assured us they would assist, but didn't cancel the reservation for 2 days. If I had canceled on the same day, I would have received a refund of 10 TL from my 17 thousand TL payment, but since they canceled it the next day, I received 8000 TL for a place I never stayed. However, despite being the victim, the host received 9000 TL even though they were at fault, and we were additionally charged a cleaning fee for the dirty house. I urge those reading this message not to book through Airbnb to avoid being victimized like me. Our rights were not defended, and despite numerous calls to Airbnb, we were left humiliated after traveling for 16 hours, and forced to move to another place in the middle of the night. We deserve our rights to be upheld. I will attach videos and photos.
