Air Arabia Denies Boarding, Tatil Sepeti Won’t Refund Tour Payment
Under the “Oasis in the Desert – Dubai Tour” package we purchased through Tatil Sepeti, our trip planned for January 10, 2026 did not actually take place due to a reason beyond our control. I paid a total of 44,343.24 TL for the package tour for two people.
On the day of travel at the airport, my wife was not allowed to check in and was denied boarding by Air Arabia, despite our having valid tickets. An Air Arabia representative at the airport clearly told us that this situation was not specific to my wife alone, but was due to a general policy. On the same day, even though we explained the issue in detail by phone to a Tatil Sepeti customer service representative, we were only told that I could board the flight alone and continue the trip without my wife. However, since the tour was purchased as a package for two people, it is not feasible to continue meaningfully under those conditions, and therefore the trip effectively did not take place at all.
Despite this, our request to change the tour was rejected by Tatil Sepeti, and we were informed by phone the next day that our request would not be accepted, and no refund was issued. Although the situation occurred completely outside of our control and through no fault of our own, we were unable to benefit from any of the services we paid for, and the fact that we have not been refunded the tour price constitutes a clear consumer grievance.
Under the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and package tour contract regulations, it is a legal obligation to refund the cost of a service that did not occur due to no fault of the consumer. Therefore, I request that the 44,343.24 TL we paid for the trip that did not take place be fully refunded to me without delay. Otherwise, I hereby inform you that I will exercise all my legal rights, including filing a claim with the Consumer Arbitration Committee and, if necessary, the Consumer Court.
I respectfully request that the necessary action be taken.
