Agoda Listed Fake Hotel and Refused Refund
I made a hotel reservation through Agoda.com two days ago for the dates 1–5 June 2026 with reservation ID 1725773596 at a hotel listed as “Alanya MC Arancia” in the Konaklı/Alanya region. After the reservation, I started following the hotel’s Instagram account and there I saw that the hotel’s name was being used for fraud and that they had warned about this. When I checked my Agoda reservation again, I realized that the photos and information on the page had been changed and that images of a different apart hotel were being used. In addition, I saw that the real hotel actually does not have any listing on Agoda. In other words, Agoda is currently publishing a misleading and fraudulent listing by using this hotel name, and my reservation was made through this listing. For this reservation, I paid ₺7,784.25 by credit card. When I tried to resolve the issue through Agoda, the system only directs me to an automatic reservation cancellation request and clearly states that no refund will be made, then keeps sending the same message again. My payment has not been refunded and my grievance continues. I request that my payment of ₺7,784.25 for reservation ID 1725773596 be fully refunded without any deduction, that this fraudulent listing using the “Alanya MC Arancia” name be immediately removed, and that the necessary measures be taken urgently to prevent other customers from being misled and defrauded in the same way through Agoda.
The error was accepted as a result of the correspondence. Points equivalent to 18 USD were awarded. A refund was provided to the card. Hopefully, the other affected parties will be resolved. The Agoda site should not ignore these errors and should grant a call center and Turkish assistant service to a country like Turkey, which is heavily touristic. The bot should provide an option regarding these errors to the artificial intelligence.
