Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism Lenses Repeatedly Tear
I have been regularly purchasing my contact lenses from Lensmarket.com for approximately 11 years, and I have been using Johnson & Johnson Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism lenses for a long time. Until now, I had never experienced any problems. However, this year, I encountered what I believe may be a manufacturing-related defect with the lenses I use in my right eye.
There was no problem with the first lens I opened from the box. When the second lens tore, I initially thought that I might have caused the damage myself. However, on August 17, 2026, I opened and inserted the fifth lens from a new box, and on August 18, 2026, I experienced the same tearing problem again. The fact that all of the tears occurred around the center of the lens, that I have experienced no problems whatsoever with the lenses for my left eye, and that I still have two completely unopened lenses remaining for my left eye, while I have had to open the final package of lenses for my right eye, makes me believe that there may be a manufacturing defect affecting the right-eye lenses.
For my right eye, I use lenses with a prescription of -2.25 and -1.25 cylinder. The lenses in question have a manufacturing date of May 4, 2024, and the lot number is L006GHJ0Y4. I placed my order online, and my order number is 2616578219.
After experiencing this problem, I contacted customer service by phone. I was initially told that they would compensate me for the inconvenience by sending trial lenses. However, I was later informed that they could not assist me because trial lenses in the required prescription were not available. Considering that I have been a regular customer for many years and that I have experienced repeated tearing problems with the right-eye lenses from the same lot, I believe this issue should be treated as a potential manufacturing defect, and I request that my loss be properly addressed.
As a customer living in Izmir, I request that the defective right-eye lenses from the affected lot be replaced with new lenses, or that an equivalent solution be provided to compensate me fairly for the inconvenience I have experienced. I would appreciate a prompt response and a meaningful resolution to this issue.
