Academia.edu Unauthorized Premium Membership Charge

An Academia.edu Premium membership was started without my knowledge or consent, and even though I never actively used any of its services, I was charged **$62** on my DenizBank card on September 23, 2026. I was not given any prior notification or an opportunity to approve this charge.

As soon as I noticed the transaction, I called DenizBank the same day to dispute the charge and, following the bank’s instructions, completed a charge dispute form. I then canceled my membership through my Academia.edu account and completely closed my account.

I request that the **$62** charged to my card without my knowledge or consent be refunded as soon as possible and that the necessary checks be carried out to ensure that I am not charged again without my authorization.
