Wizz Air Boarding Staff Tried to Charge Me for My Jacket
A female Wizz Air employee refused to let me wear my jacket, even though I was cold. Instead, she insisted that I put it inside my bag so that it would count toward my baggage allowance, apparently in an effort to make me exceed the baggage limit and pay an additional baggage fee. Because of this, she caused unnecessary problems for me during boarding. She repeatedly claimed that the temperature inside the aircraft was around 30°C (86°F), but in reality I was very cold throughout the flight because I was not allowed to keep my jacket on.
While other passengers were allowed to board wearing their jackets without any issue, I was pulled aside and made to wait for an extended period while the employee repeatedly insisted that I put my jacket inside my bag. Since my bag was already full, I had to ask another passenger for help and place my jacket in that person's bag in order to be allowed to board. Otherwise, I would likely have missed my flight.
I request that Wizz Air investigate the conduct of the employee involved and clarify its policy regarding passengers wearing jackets during boarding. I also ask the airline to ensure that staff treat passengers fairly and consistently so that no one else has to experience this type of unnecessary inconvenience and distress.
