Wingie Withheld $306 From My Airline Refund Without Explanation
I purchased airline tickets through Wingie for a Red Wings flight (booking reference GFDL6T) on the Tel Aviv – Moscow route, with a departure date of 06.10.2026. The total amount I paid for this booking was 567 USD and the fare type was Standard. More than 10 days before departure, I requested a voluntary refund. Under the official Red Wings Standard fare rules, a voluntary refund requested more than 48 hours before departure is allowed with a penalty of 3,500 RUB (approximately 40 EUR). Based on information shared by other passengers, Wingie’s own service fee for refunds appears to be in the range of 35–42 EUR. Despite this, Wingie offered to refund only 260–261 USD, and on the “Manage Your Refund” page on Wingie the refundable amount is also shown as 261 USD. This means that 306–307 USD, i.e. more than half of the ticket price, has effectively disappeared from my refund, without any explanation. Even with a reasonable combination of the airline penalty and Wingie’s service fee, the total deductions should be around 80 USD. The difference of approximately 227 USD between this reasonable amount and what is actually being withheld has not been justified or documented in any way. I contacted Wingie customer support and specifically requested a written, itemized calculation of all deductions, including the airline penalty, Wingie’s service fee and any additional fees, but I have not received any clear explanation or breakdown of where the missing 306 USD went. I request that Wingie provide a transparent, written, itemized breakdown of all deductions applied to my booking and refund the unjustifiably withheld amount of approximately 227 USD without further delay.
They stopped to answer me and disappeared
