Unfair Refund Deduction For Booking - Wingie
I purchased an international flight ticket from Riyadh to Cairo via Wingie on 27 February 2026, with travel scheduled for 24 June 2026. The booking was issued with Kuwait Airways under PNR 7MC47G. Kuwait Airways canceled the flight themselves; this cancellation was not requested by me in any way. Following this, I opened a refund request through Wingie under reference number Z6TU4Q40. According to Saudi GACA regulations and international air travel rules, when a flight is canceled by the airline, I am entitled to a full cash refund to my original payment method, without any administrative or penalty deductions. The total amount I paid is 895 SAR. Despite this, Wingie is attempting to deduct 175 SAR from my refund, which I consider to be an unfair and unlawful charge given that the cancellation was initiated by the airline, not by me. I have already sent a formal written complaint by email to Wingie customer support requesting a full cash refund of 895 SAR to my original payment method with no deductions, but I have not received any human response so far. If this issue is not rectified and the full amount of 895 SAR is not refunded without the 175 SAR deduction before the deadline of 14 June, I will proceed to escalate the matter officially to Saudi GACA and initiate a chargeback process through my bank. I request that Wingie urgently process a full cash refund of 895 SAR to my original payment method, with no deductions, and confirm this refund in writing as soon as possible.
