WhatsApp Blocked My New Number for 24 Hours Just for Sharing It with My Contacts
I’m seriously disappointed with WhatsApp’s spam detection system. I recently got a new phone number and tried to share it with the people already in my contact list—nothing shady, just letting friends and family know about the change. But out of nowhere, WhatsApp restricted my account for 24 hours, claiming it was spam.
This makes absolutely no sense. We’re in 2025—why is WhatsApp still using such outdated and overly aggressive filters? I wasn’t sending mass messages to strangers or doing anything suspicious. There were no warnings, no explanations, and no option to clarify that I was simply informing people who already know me.
Why can’t WhatsApp verify activity with a few simple questions instead of slapping a full-day block on users without even checking the context? It’s frustrating, inconvenient, and completely unnecessary.
I urgently request WhatsApp to review this faulty restriction system and lift the ban on my number. At the very least, give users a proper appeal process before automatically locking them out. This issue needs to be fixed now.
