I Face Spam WhatsApp Messages From Foreign Numbers Like Nigeria And Malaysia
Hello WhatsApp Support,
At regular intervals, I keep receiving scam and phishing attempts through WhatsApp from international numbers such as Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, other African countries, and Malaysia. These messages include dangerous links, as shown in the attached screenshots, clearly designed to steal personal information or infect devices with malware.
My biggest concern is how our phone numbers are being exposed and misused. Despite blocking and reporting these numbers, the spam keeps coming back. If I or anyone else accidentally clicked such a link, it could easily compromise our security. This situation is a major risk, and it should not be left to individual users to constantly defend themselves against fraud attempts.
I demand a clear explanation: Why is WhatsApp allowing these messages to reach users when they are clearly malicious? I also want to emphasize that any negative outcome from these unwanted messages—data theft, account compromise, or financial harm—would be WhatsApp’s responsibility, not mine.
I urgently request that WhatsApp block spam messages from suspicious foreign numbers such as +243, +138, and similar prefixes, improve its filtering system, and immediately strengthen its security measures. Please take action to protect users and ensure that this harassment does not continue.
