WhatsApp Needs Better Spam Protection — Receiving +243 Scam Messages

Today, for the first time, I started receiving deceptive and spam messages on WhatsApp from international numbers such as +243 on my Huawei Smart phone. These messages often include suspicious links that say things like “click here”, which I believe pose a serious threat to my security.

As soon as I received these messages, I used WhatsApp’s “block” feature to prevent further contact from those numbers. However, I realized that I cannot fully stop such spam messages from being delivered in the first place.

I want to make it clear that this situation is completely independent of my actions. I haven’t suffered any damage so far and have not shared any personal information, but I’m worried that a single mistake could lead to a serious security breach.

I urge WhatsApp to strengthen its security and spam filtering systems to block these types of malicious and fraudulent messages. I also request a clear explanation and concrete action plan from WhatsApp regarding how they will protect users from such threats in the future.

For the safety of all users, I request the implementation of a more effective filtering and protection system to prevent spam messages entirely and protect users from potential harm.
