Maybelline Denies Refund for Opened but Unused Makeup Product

On February 10, 2026, I purchased shade 101 from the Maybelline Serum Upstate series for $12. When I got home and tested the color on my hand, I realized that it did not match my skin tone at all. I opened the product only to check the shade, and on February 12, 2026, I went to the Sakarya Serdivan Mall store to return it. Even though I had my receipt with me, I was told that my return could not be accepted simply because I had opened the package and tested the color on my hand.
In addition, the staff took my first name, last name, and contact information, stating that they would submit a complaint form and that the response might be negative. I do not believe this approach reflects Consumer Rights standards or a customer satisfaction–focused policy. I am requesting that this product, which I opened solely to check the shade and did not actually use, be accepted for return and that my grievance be resolved.
