UPS Lost My Gold Wedding Ring and Diamond Engagement Ring

I shipped a package containing a gold wedding ring and an emerald-cut diamond engagement ring from Staples in Grass Valley, California via UPS Ground to Las Vegas a little over two months ago. The package was lost in transit. The total value of the jewelry in the package was around 6,000 dollars. After the loss, I was informed that I would only be receiving about 128 dollars (128.23/128.56) as compensation. I also received an email from the Staples Claims Center confirming this small amount. I was never asked about insurance options or given any clear information at the time of shipping, and this was my first time sending a package like this. I trusted both Staples and UPS with very valuable and sentimental items, and I am extremely disappointed with the low reimbursement. I request a full reimbursement of the approximate 6,000 dollar value of the lost items. If that is not possible, I at least expect a significantly higher and fair compensation amount, no less than half of the total value, considering the high value of the jewelry and the fact that the loss occurred while the shipment was in UPS’s care and I was not properly informed about insurance.
