I Was Overcharged Due to Uber Driver Extending Trip Route
Today, I called an Uber to travel from Şişli Armenian Cemetery to Taksim Galatasaray High School. However, instead of taking the direct route from Şişli to Taksim, the driver went all the way through Piyalepaşa and Dolapdere, significantly extending the trip. When I questioned this, the driver defended himself by saying it was not his fault.
On this platform, where drivers often take initiative, I have repeatedly been manipulated with different excuses by various drivers, but this was the final straw for me. Even the driver himself admitted the issue, telling people around him not to use Uber because it unnecessarily extends routes, which actually supported my complaint.
These unnecessary route extensions need to stop. When there is a straightforward, direct there is absolutely no need to take passengers on what feels like a world tour. This situation caused me frustration and inconvenience, and I expect Uber to take action to prevent such practices.
