Uber Eats Generated a Fake Address and Canceled My Order

On June 3, 2026, at 6:44 PM, I placed an order through Uber Eats totaling approximately $4, requesting delivery to the library where I was located at the time — an address that was clearly displayed on my app's home screen.
After the order was placed, the courier called me and read out the address showing on their screen. We both immediately realized it was a completely fabricated address — a jumbled combination of the names of several dormitories in the area that does not actually exist anywhere. This fake, nonsensical address appeared both on the courier's screen and in the support team's system. Meanwhile, my order invoice showed my actual, previously saved dormitory address that I have used before. In other words, the system simultaneously displayed three different addresses for the same order: my library location on the home screen, my real saved dormitory address on the invoice, and a nonexistent mashup address on the courier's end.
I placed the order based on the library address selected on my home screen, yet the courier was directed to this fabricated, incorrect address. Because the distance between where I actually was and this fake address exceeded 2 kilometers, the order was canceled and I received no refund. Despite the address confusion being entirely the result of a system-generated error on Uber Eats' end, I was the one left with the consequences.
When I contacted Uber Eats support, they simply noted that the addresses did not match, canceled the order, and told me no refund would be issued. The fact that their own system displayed three conflicting addresses simultaneously — and they still placed the blame on the user while routing the courier to an address that does not even exist — is completely unacceptable.
I am requesting that Uber Eats thoroughly investigate this address issue within their own system, acknowledge the error, fix the underlying infrastructure causing incorrect address generation, clarify their address saving and matching process to prevent this from happening to others, and refund the $4 I paid for this order.
