Turkcell Violated My Rights and Shared My Data Without Consent!

May 12, 2025 7:33 PM34

A postpaid mobile line registered in my name was suspended due to alleged unpaid bills, yet during this period, no service was provided, and I was still charged a debt of ₺2,545.46. How can I be billed for a service I never received? To make matters worse, I started receiving threatening messages claiming that if I didn’t pay, the total—including attorney and legal fees—would reach nearly ₺5,000. Even more disturbing, my other line, which had no outstanding balance, was also suspended without any prior notice, citing a so-called “systemic link.” This is a clear violation of my right to communication. Regarding the line I canceled, I was billed ₺1,653.26 as an "early termination fee," even though I never received a device, participated in a promotional campaign, or signed a discount-based contract. I was never informed what this charge was based on. No device, no offer—so what exactly am I paying for? As if these arbitrary practices weren’t enough, my debt information was shared with a third-party company called Recom.Takip without my consent. This company then sent threatening messages not only to me but also to my family members. This is a blatant violation of personal data privacy and a direct breach of my rights under KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law). To top it all off, I discovered—purely by coincidence through e-Government—that legal enforcement proceedings had been initiated against me without any official notice or legal notification. What kind of system is this? What kind of communication?
