Taco Bell Poor Customer Service

15

On 08/10/2026 at about 1:08 p.m., I visited the Taco Bell drive thru on Ford Road in Canton, MI. My total came to $3.59. At the payment window, I handed the employee $5.60 and clearly stated that I wanted $2.00 back in change. Instead of entering $5.60, the employee entered $5.00 into the system and gave me $1.41 in change. I immediately told her that I had given $5.60 so that I would receive $2.00 back. She then called the manager over, and the manager’s response was simply that she had typed in $5.00, so that is what I had supposedly given her, implying that the mistake was mine rather than theirs. My complaint is not about the small amount of money involved, but about the attitude and the way I was treated, as if I was in the wrong when I clearly explained the situation. This is not the first time I have had problems at this particular Taco Bell, but in the past I chose to just let it go. This time, the dismissive approach from both the employee and the manager was unacceptable. I am requesting that this incident be taken seriously and that the staff at this location receive better training on both customer service and how to make proper change. With a computerized register in front of them, this should not be a complicated process, and customers should not be made to feel at fault when the staff make a mistake. I would appreciate a response from Taco Bell about how this will be addressed.
