Subway Experience From Hell...3/9/26

March 9 9:34 PM57

On March 9 at around 12:20 p.m., I visited the Subway located at 1108 Quincy Ave, Ottumwa, Iowa, where I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the employees. I went in as a semi-regular customer and tried to place my usual order, a Protein Pocket. I clearly stated that I did not want chipotle sauce and that I wanted mayo instead. The employee refused to put mayo on my Protein Pocket, and her attitude throughout the interaction was rude and dismissive. Because of the way I was treated and the refusal to prepare my order as requested, I decided to walk out without completing the purchase, which would have been approximately 5 to 9 dollars. This was not just about the money but about the lack of basic customer service and respect. I did not catch the employee’s name, but she was the heavier-set woman working at that time; the other employee who was there should be able to identify her. This experience has completely changed my view of this location, and I do not plan to return. I expect this situation to be taken seriously, the staff involved to be spoken to, and appropriate action to be taken so that other customers do not go through a similar experience.
