Subway Food Hygiene Concern Over Gloves Touching Receipts

I would like to provide feedback regarding a food hygiene concern I encountered on 19/09/2026 at around 7.40 pm at the Subway outlet on Level 1 of West Mall Bukit Batok. While I was placing my order, one of the staff members was wearing gloves and assisted another colleague with a payment receipt. She handled the receipt with her gloved hands and, without changing her gloves, continued serving my food immediately afterwards. Since the same gloved hands were then used to handle vegetables and other ready‑to‑eat ingredients, I felt this was not hygienic. I paid for my order by card and did not take a physical receipt, but the transaction is visible in my payment records. I politely asked if she could change her gloves before continuing to handle the food, as I believed this would be a basic food‑hygiene precaution after touching non‑food items like receipts or payment‑related surfaces. In response, she gave me a look that made me feel uncomfortable, and I felt as though she was unhappy with me for raising the issue, even though I clearly mentioned I was not trying to make things difficult. I am sharing this not to blame the staff personally, but to request that the outlet remind all employees about proper glove‑changing and food‑handling procedures, especially when gloves have come into contact with receipts, payment equipment or other non‑food surfaces. I would appreciate it if this feedback could be taken seriously and necessary steps implemented to ensure better hygiene and a more comfortable experience for customers in the future.
