On April 15, 2026, between approximately 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m., I visited the Subway on Lakeview Street in Lake Cowichan and encountered a serious hygiene and professionalism issue. An employee named G*** L*** was working behind the counter without a proper uniform, which raised concerns about hygiene standards and overall compliance with company policies. What made the situation more troubling was that the manager who seemed completely unbothered by this breach of standards. There was no visible attempt to correct the situation or to ensure that proper hygiene and uniform policies were being followed. Given that hygiene and professional conduct are critical in a food-service environment, I find this situation unacceptable and concerning for customer safety and trust. I request that this incident be formally investigated, that a written apology be provided, and that appropriate disciplinary action such as a warning or, if deemed necessary after investigation, termination be considered for those responsible for ignoring or violating company policies. I expect this issue to be taken seriously and handled in accordance with Subway’s hygiene and conduct standards, and I would appreciate being informed of the outcome of your review.
