I Paid ₺20,000 in Repairs for My Samsung Z Fold 4’s Recurring Screen Freeze Issue
About 2.5 years ago, a friend and I each purchased a Samsung Z Fold 4. While still under warranty, both devices developed the exact same problem twice—whenever we switched to the large screen, the phone would freeze entirely. Samsung service repaired them and returned them to us, but the issue returned again.
We requested a device replacement due to the recurring malfunction, but Samsung dismissed it, claiming it was a “different issue.” After the second round of repairs, the same defect kept happening every 6 months. Once the warranty expired, they refused further support, and I had to pay nearly ₺20,000 for repairs—again. Seven months later, the exact same issue happened yet again. Since I was outside the 6-month service warranty, I gave up and bought a new phone.
In total, I’ve paid almost the full price of the phone in repairs for a clear manufacturing defect that Samsung refuses to acknowledge. They advertise a lifespan of 200,000 folds, yet mine didn’t even survive 20,000. This technology is clearly not ready for everyday use, and the company does not stand behind it.
If you're thinking of buying a Samsung foldable phone, think twice. I expected premium support and long-term durability—not repeated breakdowns and costly service bills.
I provided the requested information, but no one contacted me.
