My New Samsung A12 Doesn’t Support 5GHz Wi-Fi—Even My 6-Year-Old Phone Did

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy A12, expecting it to perform better than my older phone, especially since it’s a newer model. But I was shocked to discover that it doesn’t support 5GHz Wi-Fi. This is extremely disappointing—my previous phone from 5–6 years ago had no trouble connecting to 5GHz networks, yet this brand-new device only supports 2.4GHz.

Because of this limitation, I can’t take advantage of faster internet speeds or a more stable connection, especially in crowded areas where 2.4GHz bands are overloaded. I feel like I’ve taken a step backward, not forward. It’s hard to believe a new smartphone in 2025 would lack such a basic and essential feature.

Samsung, will this be fixed through a software or firmware update, or is this a permanent hardware limitation? If it’s not fixable, I may have no choice but to return or replace the phone with a more capable model. I shouldn’t have to give up Wi-Fi performance on a new device. Please provide a clear answer and a solution for users like me.
