Regal Refrigerator Suffers Unfixable Internal Body Leak After Prior Repairs
Because my previously purchased Regal brand refrigerator malfunctioned, it was replaced with a brand-new unit under warranty in 2022, and the new appliance was delivered to me on November 9, 2022. Just 10 days after receiving it, on November 18, 2022, the unit broke down, and authorized service technicians repaired it by replacing several parts. In other words, this product failed and required service within its very first 10 days.
After using the refrigerator for about four years, the upper compartment recently stopped cooling properly. When I called authorized service, they performed a leak test and reported that there was an internal refrigerant leak inside the cabinet body. They stated that the appliance needs to be replaced but demanded that I pay a fee of approximately $503 for it, recorded under service receipt number 9110493111.
The refrigerator has never been relocated, bumped, punctured, or tampered with in any way. The internal refrigerant leak occurred on its own during normal household use. Moreover, this exact unit had already broken down when it was only 10 days old. For a refrigerator that suffered its initial fault so early to suffer an internal body leak four years later raises serious questions regarding its overall durability and manufacturing quality.
I find it completely unfair to burden the consumer with the cost of an internal body leak that was not caused by user error and demand an exorbitant fee of $503, which I firmly refuse to pay.
I demand that Regal/Vestel representatives explain why this internal body leak occurred, thoroughly review the initial service records from when the product was 10 days old in 2022, and either repair the unit free of charge or replace it under fair conditions without causing me further hardship.
