My Cat Died After Eating Purina Gourmet Gold Beef Wet Food

On July 16, 2026, our lives turned into a nightmare after I fed my cat Purina Gourmet Gold Beef Chunks Wet Cat Food. Shortly after eating the food, my cat suddenly began experiencing convulsions, rapid breathing, and severe vomiting. We rushed our beloved cat to an emergency veterinary clinic while he was visibly suffering, but despite our efforts, he passed away early the following morning.

The clinical findings indicate a possible case of severe poisoning connected to the food. We purchased this product with love and trusted the Purina brand, but I believe this food may have caused my cat’s death. The product was manufactured on February 24, 2025, has an expiration date of February 2027, and belongs to the batch marked 5053**30Z1 40742319 on the bottom of the container.

Nothing can compensate for the loss of a life. I am therefore requesting an urgent and comprehensive investigation into this specific batch. If necessary, the affected products should be recalled, and all quality-control and inspection procedures should be reviewed to prevent another animal from experiencing the same tragedy.

I have retained the product container and documents related to the emergency veterinary treatment. I will file complaints with all relevant legal and regulatory authorities, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. I do not want another pet owner to experience this pain, so I strongly urge consumers not to use products from this batch until the necessary investigation has been completed.
