Preply Charged Me for an Incomplete Trial Lesson
On September 20, 2026, I took a trial English lesson through Preply with a tutor named D****. I was charged approximately $11 for the lesson under the name of a trial lesson. When I purchased the lesson, I understood that it was a trial session and expected the lesson to be structured accordingly.
The trial lesson was listed as 30 minutes, but the tutor spent the first 10 minutes simply providing general information about herself, and approximately 15 minutes were spent on introductions. The lesson then ended early. No actual lesson content was provided, and the available time was not used effectively. Despite this, I was charged the full amount for such a short and unproductive session, which left me both surprised and dissatisfied.
I do not accept being charged this way for a lesson presented as a trial session. I am requesting that the $11 payment be canceled and that I receive a full refund as soon as possible.
