PostNL Package Stuck at PTT Since December Despite €20 Declared Value
I sent a gift package from the Netherlands to Turkey through PostNL, containing items worth about €20. However, my shipment has been showing “waiting at the PTT office” since December 6, and no progress has been made with the delivery.
When I called PTT customer service, they told me that shipments over €30 require a customs declaration, and that this was the reason the package could not be processed. However, the item inside my package is worth €20, and this value was already clearly declared. In addition, I already paid about €27 for international shipping, and I cannot get a reasonable explanation for how this amount was calculated or why this rule is being applied in my case. Because of this situation, people are practically unable to send even simple gifts to their loved ones.
I want the declared value of €20 for the item in my package to be accepted as correct, and I want my shipment to be delivered to my friend in Turkey without any unnecessary obstacles. I request that this issue be resolved and that the system causing unnecessary difficulties for reasonable-value gift shipments be reviewed.
