PDF Editor Charged a Monthly Subscription After a One-Time Payment

I needed to edit a PDF file on the PDF Editor (pdfeditor.org) website. After completing the process, when I tried to download the finished file, I was presented with an option for either a monthly subscription for approximately $25 or a one-time payment of about $1 for the service I had just used. Since I only wanted to pay for that specific transaction, I accepted the one-time payment and downloaded my file.

However, I later discovered that, some time after the one-time payment, my credit card was also charged approximately $25 for a monthly subscription. I was charged approximately $1 on August 28, 2026, and another $25 on September 4, 2026, for a total of approximately $26. What concerns me most is that when I went back to the website to cancel the subscription, the “My Account” section did not work. No matter how many times I tried, clicking on this section redirected me to an unrelated page, and I could not find any contact information that would allow me to reach the company.

Because I could not cancel the subscription or contact the company, I was forced to cancel my credit card entirely. I believe this is a misleading practice that puts consumers at a disadvantage. I am requesting a refund of the approximately $25 charged to my card on September 4, 2026, and I also want other consumers to be made aware of this type of practice.
