Engine Failure In Opel Grandland X – Request for Urgent Resolution

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding a serious technical issue I have recently experienced with my vehicle. Below are the vehicle details: Despite having all periodic maintenance performed on time and never encountering any issues before, my vehicle unexpectedly displayed a “motor failure” warning while driving. I drove the vehicle myself (without needing a tow truck) directly to Opel ABC Authorized Service Center in Yenimahalle, Ankara, Turkey. ( Phone: +90 0312 278 3838) Following their diagnosis, I was informed that the engine is severely damaged internally and must be completely replaced. The service also reported that the failure was due to a broken camshaft timing chain which is a critical internal engine component. Although my vehicle is no longer under warranty, I find it extremely concerning that such a major engine failure occurred suddenly and without warning in a relatively new vehicle that has been well maintained. I was further informed that: - The replacement engine must be ordered from France and will take approximately 2 months to arrive. - No temporary replacement vehicle will be provided during this period. - All repair costs are expected to be covered by me. This situation has created an unacceptable burden on my daily life. As a medical doctor, mother of three, and small business owner, I rely on this vehicle for transporting my children and reaching my private clinic where I see patients. Being without a vehicle for such a long period is severely impacting my responsibilities. Given the seriousness of this case and the unusual nature of the engine failure, I respectfully request the following actions be taken: 1. Immediate investigation into whether this engine failure resulted from a factory or design defect. 2. Full coverage of the repair and engine replacement costs by Opel. 3. Expedited shipment of the required engine part from France. 4. Provision of a **temporary replacement vehicle** during the repair process. 5. Evaluation of the possibility of **permanently replacing my current vehicle** with a new one, given the major failure of a core mechanical component. 6. A formal written response addressing Opel's findings and your proposed resolution. I chose Opel due to its reputation for safety and durability. This experience has unfortunately caused great distress, and I trust you will approach this issue with the fairness and care it deserves.
