I Lost Access to My MetaMask and Bitcoin Wallet After a Friend Set Them Up for Me

I’m in a very difficult and stressful situation, and I need urgent help. My MetaMask and Bitcoin accounts were originally created by a friend, and unfortunately, all the wallet passwords and recovery phrases were kept by him. He even sent me some money at one point, which I transferred into my own account by converting it from USD to ₺ and sending it via my Bitcoin wallet.
The problem is, I sold my phone recently and reset it—now I’ve completely lost access to both MetaMask and my Bitcoin wallet. I don’t have the recovery phrases or login credentials, and my friend is unreachable. I’m deeply concerned that someone could still access my wallets or perform unauthorized transactions using the information they have.
Right now, there’s no money left in the account, but I’m scared that if anything happens through those accounts, I might be held responsible—even though I can no longer access or control them.
Can MetaMask or Bitcoin accounts be misused if someone still holds the recovery phrases? Is there any way to report this or take legal action? I need clear answers and guidance on whether I should file an official complaint or take further steps.
