I use Memrise on both my phone and my computer, but the data doesn’t sync. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Here are practical and up-to-date steps that have already helped other users:

Make sure you’re logged into the same account

Very often, users accidentally create multiple profiles — for example, one via Google and another via Apple or Facebook.
Check the email address in your profile settings on both your phone and your computer.
If they’re different, log in using the account that contains your learning progress.

Check your internet connection and allow time for syncing

Memrise saves progress locally when used offline and uploads it to the server only after reconnecting.
Connect to a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
Open the app and keep it active for 1–2 minutes so syncing can complete.

Update the app to the latest version

Older versions of Memrise sometimes fail to sync progress properly. Visit the App Store or Google Play and install any available updates.

Clear the app cache and restart
If data still doesn’t update, clear the Memrise cache (phone settings → Apps → Memrise → Clear cache) and restart your device. Then log back into your account.

Check whether you’re using offline mode
If you study offline using downloaded courses, progress will sync only after reconnecting to the internet. If you deleted the app before syncing, some data may have been lost.

If syncing still doesn’t work
Contact Memrise support at [email protected] and include:

your account email address,

your device and app version,

the course where the sync issue occurs,

the date of the last successful update.

If Memrise fails to update statistics or transfer data across platforms, file a complaint on Xolvie. This can help push for a fix and improve the service’s reliability.
