Marc Washing Machine Cleaner Lacks Child Safety Seal, Posing Severe Poison Risk
On August 16, I purchased Marc brand "Flower Garden" scented washing machine cleaner from the supermarket inside the Özdilek Shopping Center in Bursa. When I brought the product home, I noticed that there was no protective safety seal or shrink wrap of any kind on the cap. While the bottle was standing on the table, my young child picked it up and almost drank it. I noticed just in time and intervened; as a result, we did not need to visit a healthcare facility, but we narrowly avoided a severe emergency.
It is completely unacceptable for such a strong chemical—used in households where children are present—to lack any safety seal or child-proof protective packaging on its cap. Offering a product for sale that can be opened simply by twisting the cap without any extra security mechanism presents a massive risk for families with children.
I demand that Marc and the responsible authorities immediately review the packaging and safety protocols for this product, implement child-safety seals or similar protective mechanisms, and provide a formal statement regarding this serious safety risk. Furthermore, I request that this complaint be logged and that all necessary precautions be taken immediately so that other families do not face the same hazard.
