Lufthansa Leaves My Name Error Unresolved Before Strike-Rebooked Flight
I'm writing this complaint because of the lack of communication and problem-solving I've experienced on Lufthansa's end, ahead of my Istanbul–Frankfurt flight tomorrow — a flight originally operated by Lufthansa but transferred to Turkish Airlines due to the Lufthansa strike.
My original booking was on Lufthansa flight LH1299. Even though my flight was moved to Turkish Airlines flight TK1591 because of the strike, I haven't received adequate support or guidance from Lufthansa throughout this process. After my flight was transferred to Turkish Airlines, I noticed there was an extra letter in my name on the Turkish Airlines mobile app, caused by a system issue. I believe this wasn't a mistake on my part, but rather a systemic error that occurred during the transfer process between the two airlines.
In the requests I submitted to Lufthansa, I explained that this name came directly from the Lufthansa booking and that the error needed to be corrected in coordination with Turkish Airlines. However, in their responses, no concrete steps were taken to resolve the issue — instead, I was told that Turkish Airlines needed to sort out the name problem with Lufthansa, and no one clearly took responsibility. Already dealing with an unplanned airline transfer because of the strike, I've been seriously let down by Lufthansa's failure to take initiative and own this problem.
My flight is now coming up very soon, and because of this name error, there's a real risk I could be denied boarding. Despite this, Lufthansa's failure to take ownership of the situation and establish quick, effective communication with Turkish Airlines is unacceptable for an international airline brand.
My request to Lufthansa is that they immediately coordinate with Turkish Airlines to urgently correct the error in my name, and that this correction be confirmed to me in writing. I also expect the hardship I've experienced throughout this process to be taken into account, and for the necessary improvements to be made so that passengers aren't left stranded like this in similar situations going forward.
