LG DFB512FW Dishwasher Suffers From Severe Rack Corrosion




I purchased an LG DFB512FW dishwasher in 2021 and have been experiencing an increasingly severe rusting problem on the dishwasher rack wires for approximately the last two years. More recently, the upper spray arm has also started to bend and become obstructed during operation. Although the product's standard warranty expired in 2024, I believe these issues are not the result of misuse but rather a product-related and potentially recurring manufacturing defect.
Previously, I experienced a separate issue with the cutlery basket section. At that time, the authorized service center replaced the affected part on its own initiative and applied what they described as an exceptional warranty coverage for the issue. However, when I contacted LG customer service in Konya today regarding the rack corrosion and upper spray arm problems, I was informed that an exceptional warranty for these components had existed in the system but had expired on April 1, 2026.
The most frustrating aspect of this situation is that I was never informed that such an additional warranty or special coverage had been granted. Despite this lack of communication, I was effectively told that the coverage had expired and that no further assistance would be provided. The manner in which the situation was explained made it seem as though the responsibility rested entirely with me for not applying within a period I had never been made aware of.
I find it unacceptable that LG appears to recognize recurring issues such as rack corrosion and component deterioration, grants additional coverage for them, yet fails to clearly notify customers about the existence or duration of that coverage. Once the period expires, customers are left without support despite having no knowledge of the additional warranty in the first place.
I therefore request that the rusted dishwasher racks and the bent upper spray arm be replaced free of charge or, at the very least, at a substantial goodwill discount. I also ask LG to review how these exceptional warranty programs are communicated to customers so that others do not experience the same inconvenience and disappointment.
I hope LG will take responsibility for these recurring product issues and provide a fair resolution to restore my confidence in the brand.
