LG Dishwasher Suffers Chronic AE Water Leak Error and Exceeds Legal Repair Time
My LG DFCA2SFP dishwasher, which was installed on April 4, 2023, developed a chronic “AE” (water leakage) error as well as a control panel malfunction while still under warranty. The same issue also occurred in November 2024, but at that time it was dismissed with the explanation that “no fault was found.”
On December 22, 2025, the appliance was taken to the authorized service workshop (Ateş Elektronik) under work order number rnu251219039074. According to Article 10/4 of the After-Sales Services Regulation, a replacement (loaner) device must be provided to the consumer after 10 business days. However, despite all my requests, no replacement device was provided, with the explanation that it was “out of stock.”
During this process, the local service contacted me and stated that “there is no issue with the appliance, the problem is with your plumbing,” and attempted to return the machine without performing any repair. However, during my conversation with LG Headquarters on January 19, 2026, I was informed that “the required part has arrived and the repair is ongoing.” While the authorized service claimed there was no fault, LG headquarters stated that a part replacement was being carried out. These contradictory and misleading statements provided to the consumer are not consistent with the seriousness expected from a reputable brand.
As of January 19, 2026, the legally permitted maximum repair period of 20 business days has expired. Under the law, the right to repair has therefore ended. In relation to this matter, I have filed an application with the Consumer Arbitration Committee under file number 2026/0066.71.
Due to the expiration of the legal repair period, the contradictory and misleading statements made by both the authorized service and LG headquarters, and the product’s chronic defect, I categorically refuse any further repair. Pursuant to Article 11 of Law No. 6502, I urgently request that the product be replaced with a brand-new, defect-free equivalent.
