I Face KitchenAid Spare Parts Problems After Service Refused To Sell Mixer Brushes
The carbon brushes in my KitchenAid stand mixer need to be replaced. I contacted the authorized service center in Ankara and was told, “You need to send the mixer to us because we do not sell spare parts directly to customers.”
I removed the part myself because it is extremely simple to access and can be removed from the outside with a screwdriver. I do not understand why I should have to ship such a large machine to the service center and pay additional shipping and service fees just to replace a small component that can easily be installed by the user. My mixer is also already out of warranty.
As a customer, I expect KitchenAid to provide reasonable access to spare parts for the products it sells. Refusing to sell a basic replacement component and requiring customers to send in the entire appliance creates unnecessary cost and inconvenience.
I request that KitchenAid review this policy and make the required carbon brush replacement part available for purchase so I can repair my stand mixer without having to ship the entire machine to an authorized service center.
