On November 20, 2025, I purchased an iPhone 17 along with an Apple Watch SE (2nd generation, 49 mm) from the 212 Vatan Bilgisayar store. Since the very first day I bought the phone, I have been experiencing a serious issue with WhatsApp video calls, and this problem is still ongoing. When I make a WhatsApp video call to my mother, sibling, or spouse, the call sometimes disconnects on its own after 2 seconds, sometimes after 2 minutes, and sometimes even after 10 minutes. When I call again, the same issue repeats, with the call ending at random times.
Other phones using the same internet connection do not have this problem; the issue occurs only on my iPhone 17. Because of this, I took the phone in for inspection. The Vatan store directed us to an authorized service center. At the authorized service center, they connected the phone to their system and examined it, then told me that this is a common issue on iPhone 17 devices, that it is software-related, and that there is currently nothing that can be done other than waiting for a software update. They could not provide any timeframe for when such an update would be released. No written service report or case number was created.
As someone who has used iPhones for many years, it is extremely disappointing to encounter such a basic communication problem on a newly released model and be told that there is “no solution other than waiting.” I cannot reliably make WhatsApp video calls, and this issue is seriously affecting my daily communication.
I request that this problem be resolved without shifting the responsibility onto an undefined future software update, and I specifically request that my device be replaced. I expect Apple to stand behind its product and resolve this issue permanently, including by replacing the device if necessary, so that my inconvenience is properly addressed.
