My Hacked Instagram Account: Impostor Scamming Friends for Money
My Instagram account, @n..., was taken over by a malicious individual on August 12, 2024. This person is messaging my friends pretending to be me, making promises, and asking them for money. They most recently contacted my spouse, threatening to do worse things if the requested money is not sent.
I have evidence of all the posts and messages this person has made and plans to make. I want to make it clear that I am not responsible for any of their actions or posts. This individual has threatened to do even more harm to me and my spouse.
I am filing a complaint. Please help. How can I regain access to my account and password? How can I contact Instagram? I have sent emails but have not received a response yet. I would appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Progress
My Instagram account named N... has been hacked. Despite sending multiple emails for several days, the support center remains silent. Malicious posts are still being made by the ill-intentioned person, asking for money and making threats. I am not responsible for this. Why is nothing being done yet? I want my account back immediately. This person cannot make posts from an account that belongs to me and deceive people; it is Instagram's job to prevent this. I want to retrieve my password, but I can't because I changed my phone model 2 months ago. Instagram wants me to take action from my old phone, but I no longer have it. What should I do in this situation? Should I let someone deceive people using my account and my photos? I want my account back immediately. I need a solution.
No solution was offered. The wrongdoer got away with it. At least the account should have been closed.
