I am writing to share my serious dissatisfaction with IMed Medical in Istanbul regarding a plastic surgery procedure that was performed on me without my permission and has caused lasting physical and emotional harm. On 16 September 2025, I underwent surgery arranged by IMed Medical. The documents and information I was given beforehand described a forehead lift procedure. At no point was I told that a hairline advancement would be performed, nor did I give consent specifically for hairline advancement. I believe a hairline advancement was carried out without my consent because they removed approximately 2.5 centimeters of my forehead skin, which I never agreed to. The way the procedure was explained to me minimized the extent and visibility of any scarring, and I trusted this information when agreeing to the surgery. On their own media, IMed Medical openly acknowledges that a forehead reduction results in a large scar from ear to ear, yet in their text messages with me they told me the scar would be invisible over time, which created a completely different expectation. In addition, they operated on me straight after I got off the airplane, without giving me time to rest, properly settle, or reflect calmly on the procedure. I have been left with severe visible scarring and ongoing physical pain. I later learned that the doctor had left permanent sutures in my head, which contributed to the constant pain I was experiencing. This situation has also caused significant emotional distress due to the unexpected change in my appearance and the feeling that my trust and consent were violated. Because of the damage and the unacceptable condition of the scar, I had no choice but to seek a costly revision surgery. On 12 January 2026, I underwent a revision procedure with Dr. Sarah Saxon, for which I paid 22,000 USD out of my own pocket. This was an additional financial, physical, and emotional burden that I should never have had to bear if the original procedure had been carried out ethically and competently, and only within the scope of what I had actually consented to.
