My Hyundai Kona EV makes a loud brake noise at start, how can I fix it?

This is usually caused by surface rust forming on the brake pads, especially when it's humid or wet outside.

Since electric cars use regenerative stopping, the regular brake pads might not be used very often, which lets rust build up.

To lower the noise, you can switch to "B" mode every so often or press down harder on the brake pedal to clean the wheels.

It's also possible that the noise is coming from brake parts that aren't oiled enough or brake pads that are worn down.

A professional should check the brake system to make sure that all of its parts are working right.

Hyundai's global customer service can be reached at 1-800-633-5151, or you can go to www.hyundai.com to find the closest approved repair center.

If none of the above solutions work, please feel free to share your experience. You can also file a complaint on our website.
