I purchased a Huawei Mate 20 Pro in March 2019 and decided to replace its battery through Huawei’s official Battery Replacement Campaign on December 21, 2024. I sent my phone to an authorized service center (KVK Technical Service, İzmir) due to frequent shutdowns.
After the battery replacement, the service center claimed they had tested the phone and found no issues. However, when I got the phone back, the shutdown issue persisted. Curious, I checked the newly installed battery—to my shock, it was manufactured on June 2, 2020! Huawei replaced my old battery with another old battery that’s almost as old as the original one.
I immediately contacted Huawei customer service and filed a complaint. Their response? They do not consider the battery’s production date important—only whether it is “new” or not. This is completely unacceptable. I trusted Huawei as a reliable brand, yet they knowingly installed an outdated battery and refused to take responsibility.
Huawei, why are you giving customers years-old batteries instead of genuinely new ones? I demand a proper replacement with a recently manufactured battery, not a leftover one from four years ago!
