Hiyoo Ignores In-App Security Reports as User Receives Threatening Messages
For the past month, I have used the Hiyoo application registered with my mobile phone number. Over the last 20 days, I have been subjected to an alarming privacy breach involving abusive and threatening messages received both within the Hiyoo app and directly on my personal WhatsApp account.
I have strong reason to believe my personal details and phone number were exposed or shared without my consent via Hiyoo’s platform. Despite submitting urgent inquiries to Hiyoo’s in-app support team to report this ongoing harassment, I have received no response or assistance whatsoever. Permitting user contact data to be compromised—and subsequently ignoring reports of safety threats—constitutes a severe violation of platform security and user protection obligations.
Pursuant to Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, I demand that Hiyoo immediately delete all of my personal data, phone numbers, and profile entries from its systems. Furthermore, I demand a comprehensive written disclosure detailing how my data was handled, including whether it was shared with or exposed to third parties. Should Hiyoo fail to resolve this immediately, I will file a formal complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority and submit a criminal complaint (savcılık duyurusu) regarding the extortion and harassment.
