I Lost My Google Authenticator Codes and Gate.io Won’t Let Me Access My Funds

I am locked out of my Gate.io account because I no longer have my Google Authenticator codes. I never made a backup, and now the app reset itself, wiping the 2FA entry completely. Even though I can still enter my e-mail address, phone number, and the correct password, Gate.io keeps demanding the missing 2FA code and refuses every login attempt. I tried following the usual “reset” steps, but the process asks for a user ID—information I obviously can’t see because I can’t get into my account in the first place. I contacted Gate.io support, and their only advice was, “Talk to Google”—an answer that helps no one. Meanwhile, my funds are sitting in my account, unreachable, and this so-called security feature has turned into a prison cell.

Gate.io, hear me: disable Google Authenticator on my account or provide a real recovery path now. I have already proved my identity through my registered e-mail and phone number. Keeping customers’ money locked away behind an unreachable 2FA wall is unacceptable. Restore my access, release my funds, and overhaul your account-recovery system before more users are trapped like me.
