Expedia Canceled My Stay Due to a Funeral and Refuses a Refund
I booked a Longosphere Glamping stay for January 24-25 through Expedia (Trip #72060871699928) but could not attend due to a funeral. When I contacted the property, they assured me that I could either reschedule or cancel.
However, while I was at the funeral, I received one missed call from the property. Since I couldn’t answer, they immediately marked my reservation as “offshore” (non-refundable). When I contacted Hotels.com, they said they didn’t need a death certificate and that they would handle it with the hotel—but after a month of excuses, they claimed they couldn’t reach the property.
The hotel confirmed they were never contacted and blamed Expedia/Hotels.com for refusing to refund my payment. After all this, I was refunded a laughable 0.10₺—a complete insult.
I am demanding a full refund. Expedia, do the right thing and honor your customer service commitments!
