On Thursday, July 3, 2025, I rented a car from Düsseldorf Airport and returned it on July 13, 2025, around 1:00 PM, believing everything was in perfect condition. However, I was later informed that a barely visible 3–4 cm scratch on the wheel rim was reported as 10 cm, and €177.96 was deducted from my deposit as a repair fee.
I’ve attached the photo of the wheel and the damage report as evidence. The scratch was minimal and clearly exaggerated in the report. Charging €177.96 for such a minor mark is unreasonable and unfair.
I want to warn future renters to be extremely cautious and document every small mark or scratch before pickup. I request a review of this excessive charge and a partial or full refund of the €177.96 deducted from my deposit.
